The Disney Elementary School has a preschool program for children who are 4 years old and will be eligible to enter kindergarten the following year. The program has been modified to better identify and meet the needs of our young children who otherwise may not have the opportunity to attend preschool. Title I, a federally funded and regulated program, provides programs for children living in low income households, who are English Language Learners, whose skills are one or more years below their expected age level, and/or have other special circumstances that may interfere with future or current academic achievement.
The preschool classrooms are staffed with a certified early childhood teacher and trained paraprofessional(s):
Mrs. Amanda Braun, A.M. Preschool Teacher
Mrs. Sandy Miller, P.M. Preschool Teacher
Mrs. Tiffany Epp, Preschool Paraprofessional
Miss Kristina Kessler, Preschool Paraprofessional
The class size average is 18 children, with slots available for parent pay tuition and/or early childhood special education students. Sessions meet Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday A.M. only, Thursday, and Friday through Friday AM and PM. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the preschool site. Tuition for parent-pay students is $198 (half day) $396 (full day) per month and the tuition for Title I eligible students will be waived.
Preschool follows the rules and regulations within Rule 11 and Results Matter. All classrooms use Creative Curriculum and all students are assessed using Teaching Strategies GOLD 3 times per year.
