We Need YOU to Make Our School WATCHDOG STRONG!
What is Watch D.O.G.S?
Watch D.O.G.S - Dads of Great Students is a national educational initiative of the National Center For Fathering. Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles are welcomed into their child’s school to work with and serve as a role model for all students.
What are the goals of Watch D.O.G.S?
Goal 1 - provide a positive male role model for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
Goal 2 - provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
Why do we need YOU?
Watch D.O.G.S is a volunteer program. If not for men like you willing to volunteer your time to have a positive impact on children, there would be no Watch D.O.G.S! Our students need positive male role models and by showing up to spend a day at school with your child is showing them that school matters and that THEY MATTER!
What does being a WatchDog look like?
It can be a full day or half day commitment. You will get a schedule that allows you to not only work with your child, but other children in the building. You will get to build relationships with Disney teachers and staff.
Please consider volunteering to be a WatchDog!
Super M.O.M.S.--Moms Of Magnificent Students is a Mother Figure involvement program--aunts, grandmas, step mom etc. that focuses on academics with students and mentoring of students.
Goal 1: To be a positive influence with students and to demonstrate by their presence that education is important
Goal 2: The academic focus will be working with students extra reading/math practice, independent academic practice in the classroom during workstations, reading aloud activities and/or extra hands working with specific skills
